“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
– Margaret Mead, Author & Anthropologist
So, you’re interested in volunteering…GREAT!
You can help adults learn to change their lives by volunteering with Peninsula READS. Our volunteer tutors teach basic reading, writing, math, computer and conversational English skills to adults with a variety of literacy goals. No teaching experience or speaking of another language is required. If you’re not sure about tutoring, there are other ways you can help make a life-long difference in the lives of the adults we serve. Please keep in mind that most of our volunteer opportunities are a better fit for individuals than groups.
Once you’ve made your decision, or even if you haven’t, register for an upcoming Volunteer Orientation to learn more! Don’t worry, if you are still not sure which volunteer role is best for you, we can help!
Upcoming orientation sessions:
Wednesday, August 21st, 12:00 – 1:30 PM
Tuesday, September 24th, 5:00 – 6:30 PM
All volunteers must…
- be at least 18 years old,
- have a High School Diploma/GED,
- speak, read, and write English fluently,
- know that this is not a short term volunteer opportunity.
