Peninsula READS is truly grateful for every donation. As a community based literacy organization, (CBLO), we rely on your support to be able to continue our mission of providing adults the opportunity to attain the literacy skills necessary to participate fully in society. Your tax-deductible donation allows us to continue working to break the cycle of illiteracy in a family, to improve the quality of our workforce for employers and to broaden the tax base in our community.

Why Donate?

Each donation enables us to continue improving our community by improving the lives of our learners.

Each $15.00 donation covers the cost on one teacher’s manual for tutoring.

Each $25.00 donation will offset the cost of assessing one adult learner.

Each $50.00 donation will provide a case of paper used for lesson planning.

Each $75.00 donation will cover the cost of a small mailing to our students and tutors.

Each $100.00 donation will train two volunteers to tutor.

Each $200.00 helps offset the cost of computer literacy programs.

How to donate?

Peninsula READS greatly appreciates your interest and wants you to be able to donate in the way easiest for you.  We accept donations:

  • By sending a paper check or money order in the mail to our Newport News office at 11832 Fishing Point Drive, Suite 200, Newport News, Virginia 23606
  • By contacting us directly at 757-283-5776 for donations of materials and/or equipment.
